Biography of
Architect Gustavo Portilla Ventura

Architect Gustavo Portilla studied Architecture at University of Ibero Americana in Tijuana, Mexico. His course of study included five years of General Education and Architecture with a specialization in Urban Development the last two years. He graduated with a Masters Degree and received his Architecture license in 1989.

While attending the University, Architect Portilla also attended courses at the University in La Jolla.

In 1989 Architect Portilla worked in the Federal Government offices for two years. While working he learned much invaluable information that would help him with clients in the future.

Prior to the University Architect Portilla studied in Ensenada, Mexico at a private Catholic school as well as schools in the San Diego area. One year as a foreign exchange student in Pennsylvania helped to strengthen his English and improve his knowledge of the U.S.

After graduating from high school, Architect Portilla worked hands on in the field of construction in the San Diego area, and this is when he realized that this was the career in which he wanted to excel. However, he wanted to include the initial design, since his talent and passion had always been in the area of art.

In 1994, Gustavo Portilla continued his education further. He studied for almost two years to become a private appraiser and has been preparing appraisals since 1996.

Gustavo Portilla has been working as a self-employed Contractor and Architect since 1991.

In 2001, Gustavo Portilla and his family moved to the United States and began employment in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was self-employed and supervised construction projects such as residential homes, additions, patios, apartment complexes and several restaurants. Additionally, he would draft plans, pull permits and deal with all phases of inspections and paperwork in order to complete the projects. He worked and gained valuable experience and knowledge in Las Vegas for over 6 years.
